To obtain proper door function, the correct choice of the panic device is very important. The opening direction, door configuration and quantity of locking points must be taken into consideration.
On single doors pratically any type of panic exit device can be used without any functional problem. On the other hand, double doors require careful choice of the item to guarantee proper operation. Actually, regulations state that on double rebated doors, the main door (active leaf) must open independently while, if the bar on the secondary door (inactive leaf) is pushed both doors must open simultaneously. For double non rebated doors, each door is independent.
