Types of power supply

CISA DOMO Connexa works with different types of power supply:
  • Power supply with disposable batteries (12 x AA or 12 x C)
  • Powered by the mains with power supply (12/24 VDC)
Battery lifetime is closely related to the number of locking cycles, as well as the smoothness of the actual action. In standby mode, CISA DOMO Connexa needs a minimum amount of power. Assuming an average of 10 locking operations per day, 12 x AA batteries will last for up to 12 months. Due to the characteristics of the batteries, battery life may be significantly shorter when the temperature is very low. You can find more information about the types of battery to use and durability at the bottom of this page.

How to change the batteries

When the power level goes below 20%, the Nuki app sends a notification to your smartphone and the LED on the BUTTON flashes a warning. If you are not able to change the batteries immediately, you can still use your mechanical key. Proceed as follows to change the batteries.
  1. The battery holder is located either on one side of the leaf or on the top edge of the Smart Door. Once you have found it, unscrew the two fixing screws, remove the cover and take out the battery holder.
  2. Replace the batteries and insert the battery holder back into the Smart Door. Screw in the two screws which will hold the cover in place.

CAUTION Risk of explosion if the batteries are replaced by an incorrect type. Dispose of used batteries according to the instructions.

Battery type and durability

The CISA DOMO Connexa lock detects whether it is powered by batteries or the mains. If powered by the mains, the Smart Door will not display battery warnings. You can also configure the power supply manually using the Nuki app. Go into the settings Manage Smart Door > Battery type.
Please note that cheap batteries from discount stores deplete faster and the battery low warning may appear shortly after the batteries have been changed.

For longer usage we recommend
Open Nuki app and select:
Smart Door > Settings > Manage Smart Door > Disable "Bluetooth Pairing".
When "Bluetooth Pairing" is deactivated, you can add new users by creating invitation codes through the Nuki app.

You can reset your Smart Door to factory default settings using the Nuki app.
All data will be permanently deleted. After the factory reset, you can set up your Smart Door again.
There are two ways of resetting your Smart Door to factory default settings:
Open the Nuki app and select: Smart Door > Settings > Manage Smart Door > Factory reset
Open the Nuki app and select: Settings> Help > Smart Door Factory reset .

By setting up a six-digit PIN code, you can protect your Smart Door (administration, activity log and user management) against unauthorised access. To set the PIN, tap on the desired Smart Door in the Nuki app and open the settings. Select “Manage Smart Door”. Here you can configure the PIN under the option “Change PIN”.

Every user who knows the PIN can make changes to the Smart Door configuration. This means there is no exclusive administrator for the Nuki app; there are users who have the PIN and can therefore view the areas mentioned above, and there are users who do not have access to administration, the activity log and user management because they do not know the PIN.

Forgot PIN
If you have forgotten the PIN for your Smart Door and no other user knows it, you must reset the Smart Door to factory settings to regain access to the PIN-protected areas.

Nuki relies on state-of-the-art encryption methods which are also used for online banking and other smart home systems. Your data will not be stored on our servers. With these safety precautions, your Smart Door is protected from unauthorised access.

TROUBLESHOOTING

With Auto Unlock, your Smart Door is automatically unlocked when you come home.

To improve the quality of the Smart Actions and especially Auto Unlock, follow the suggestions below:

  • Activating Wi-Fi improves the quality of Smart Actions, as it can help determine the location of your smartphone.
  • Due to the energy-saving settings of your smartphone, you may have to wait a few seconds before Auto Unlock opens your door automatically. To avoid this, you can simply wake up your phone by pressing the Home or Power button just before you arrive at your door - and Nuki Auto Unlock will work even faster.
  • If you use an Android device, you should disable battery optimisation for the Nuki app, so it receives the location data which are required for Smart Actions without delay from the operating system.
  • With the Auto Unlock Expert Settings, you can customise the configuration for the automatic locking actions to suit your individual needs.
  • In the Auto Unlock Settings menu, you can find the command Show Map which enables you to see the position of your Smart Door. You can also access the sub menu Expert Settings which allows you to configure different actions for geofence events.

Auto Unlock automatically unlocks your Smart Door when you come home.

Auto Unlock filter
If you come home with your family or friends, we have included an Auto Unlock filter, so your Smart Door does not perform numerous unwanted Auto Unlocks consecutively. If, within two minutes, several smartphones send Auto Unlock requests to the same Smart Door, only the first Auto Unlock will be performed, while the other Auto Unlocks will be filtered for the next two minutes to avoid unwanted locking operations.

By setting up a six-digit PIN code, you can protect your Smart Door (administration, activity log and user management) against unauthorised access. To set the PIN, tap on the desired Smart Door in the Nuki app and open the settings. Then select “Manage Smart Door”.

The perceived volume of the acoustic feedback depends on the material of the door, the type of installation and the structural conditions on site. Some materials have a strong sound-absorbing effect.

The sound level can be lowered. To change the sound level, simply select the desired Smart Door in the Nuki app and go to the settings. Now choose “Manage Smart Door”. Here you can configure the “Sound” level as Normal, Low or Off.
