F.A.Q.

I would like to purchase an electronic locking system, who should I get in touch with?

  • For advice about the system which will best suits your needs or for details of purchases, you can get in touch with your local agent

I have some broken parts, how can I get them repaired?

  • Get in touch with your local engineer.
  • Alternatively, you can send your parts to CISA for repair, arranging the shipping details beforehand.

Can the security card be programmed to give access to places other than rooms (e.g. car park, lift, fitness centre)?

  • Yes, this can be done when it is created and also after it has been issued to the guest (this second option is only possible if the system is equipped with an online control unit).

Can I manage night time access if there is no porter?

  • Yes you can, by controlling the main entrance with an electronic lock. This way anyone with a valid room card can get in at any time.

Are electronic locks hardwired?

CISA electronic locks are battery powered (AA, alkaline, easy to replace) so no wiring is required.

Can I control entry times?

  • Yes, you can select time intervals when access can be granted or denied.
  • After the card has been read, the door does not open and the LED on the lock flashes red 3 times.

The lock is working correctly but the security card is not programmed to grant access. Consult the audit trail to check.

  • After the card has been read, the door does not open and the LED on the lock flashes red 3 times and green once.

The lock is working correctly but the security card is not programmed to grant access.

  • If you are using a housekeeping card, the lock is probably in privacy mode. In this case, it will only open with a security card which is programmed to “override” the privacy mode.
  • If you are using a guest card, the lock is not synchronised. We recommend you synchronise the lock.
  • In all cases we recommend you consult the audit trail to check.

The door opens with all cards but after the card is removed, the LED gives 10 rapid green flashes.

The lock is not initialised. Programme the lock with the correct name using the initialisation procedure.

Can the CISA system be interfaced with a PC?

  • Yes, you can issue cards and consult audit trails from a PC if you use CISA Smart Software (the CISA system is compatible with the most commonly found PMS on the market).

Can the CISA system be interfaced with a POS (Point Of Sale) system?

  • Yes, part of the card’s memory is left free so third parties can use it for their needs, for example POS, domotics, etc.

How do I go about getting a duplicate copy of the emergency mechanical override keys?

  • You can get a copy from CISA if you show your owner’s card.

I have no more valid user cards, what should I do?

  • You can use the user card in the emergency card kit which the CISA engineer left with you when he installed the system and create a new user card. Always remember to put the emergency user card back in the kit afterwards.

I have no more valid user cards and I do not have the emergency kit. What should I do?

  • You can use the user card in the emergency card kit which the CISA engineer left with you when he installed the system and create a new user card. Always remember to put the emergency user card back in the kit afterwards.
